Our commitment
Welcome To Islam is run by One True Message Foundation, a UK registered charity. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and caring environment for everyone we support — and to acting promptly and sensitively whenever a concern is raised.
How we protect the people we support
- Same-gender mentoring. Mentor support is matched on a same-gender basis — brothers are supported by brothers, and sisters by sisters.
- Clear boundaries. Mentors agree to a code of conduct before they are approved, covering appropriate contact, confidentiality, and respect.
- You stay in control. You decide how much to share, when to meet, and whether to visit a mosque alone or with someone expecting you. Meeting in public, community settings is encouraged.
- Privacy. Your information is only shared with those who need it to support you. See our privacy policy.
Raising a concern
If anything makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe — whether about a mentor, a volunteer, a mosque introduction, or anything else — please tell us. You will be listened to, taken seriously, and treated with care and confidentiality.
- Email us at hello@welcometoislam.co.uk with “Safeguarding” in the subject.
- Or message us privately on WhatsApp — see the contact page.
In an emergency
We are not an emergency service and cannot offer crisis support. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 now. For urgent but non-emergency medical help, call NHS 111. If you are struggling to cope or having difficult thoughts, the Samaritans are there for you free, day or night, on 116 123.
